Nigel Black
Traditional Accordion Music from Co. Antrim
Apples In Winter
"Apples In Winter" is Nigel's new CD and is a mixture of both Irish and Scottish music. He plays accordion, piano and bass himself but is also joined on several tracks by Elaine Allen (tin whistle), Robert Farren (piano) and Johnny McCrory (drums). The CD will be launched in The Fort Royal Inn, Ballymena on Thursday 30th October 2008 at 8pm. Many local musicians are coming together for a night of traditional music and song. Admission is free and everyone is welcome to come along and enjoy the music. Here's what Mick Foster had to say about the new release:
"Nigel is a fine accordion player with a number of notable awards under his belt and a repertoire ranging from the traditional dance music of Ireland and Scotland to the musette music of France. He is a mighty musician and I take great pleasure in commending this his first album to you."
- Mick Foster (Foster and Allen)
